What has, so far in 2024, been the biggest surprise to you in technology?
In 2024, the biggest surprise to me in technology has been the unprecedented advancements in quantum computing. IBM unveiled their latest quantum processor, Condor, with an astonishing 1,121 qubits. This leap forward has dramatically reduced the time required to solve complex problems, which traditional computers would take thousands of years to solve. This breakthrough is not only set to revolutionize fields such as cryptography, drug discovery, and materials science but also signifies a pivotal moment where theoretical quantum advantages are becoming practical realities.
What do you expect will be announced in 2024, and by whom?
