DFP has invested in African tech ventures tackling social challenges, primary in mobility/logistics, Agri tech, financial inclusion areas. It runs acceleration program with Japanese and European DFIs as well as international organization such as UNDP, accelerating more than African 70 start ups. DFP also advises global corporates and government agencies on innovation strategies in Africa.
In Luxembourg, he established a subsidiary (DFP GP S.à.r.l) and is setting up the impact fund focused on Africa (with IQEQ and Arendt), supporting the business foundation of early-stage African startups and facilitating collaborations with global corporations. Signed an MOU with the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology and supprting its the Catapult Africa program. Last year, DFP worked with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Tsukuba City to support three Japanese startups in expanding to Luxembourg.
He started career at Morgan Stanley (Tokyo). He later joined the United Nations and handled impact investments in cleantech and finance in Middle East.
Educated at Tsukuba University, UCLA, and Bucerius Law School in Germany. Served as an advisor in the Cabinet Office’s Public-Private R&D Investment Expansion Program and leads the NINJA (Next Innovation with Japan) project by JICA. Member of the Ministry of Economy’s Africa Business Council.
