Bill Roscoe is an Emeritus Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Oxford University, where he was the Head of the Department between 2003 and 2014, and a fellow of the Royal Acedemy of Engineering. His research interests span across multiple areas of computer science including security, concurrency, and verification. His interest in blockchains has led to the creation of the University College Oxford Blockchain Research Centre, which he directs, where he works on the foundations of blockchain and on developing mainstream applications.
