The inaugural Nexus2050 event in Luxembourg aims to address the intersection of technology and ecology, with a view toward realising carbon neutrality by 2050. Spanning three days, the event features an array of conferences, meetings and networking opportunities, centred around pivotal themes such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, cybersecurity and fintech. Notably, the premier edition will shine a spotlight on Luxembourg’s burgeoning technology and innovation ecosystem. Attendees can expect an engaging mix of activities, including an exhibition area, a symposium and international forums. Of particular interest, the final day is earmarked for strategic visits tailored for students eager to explore career prospects in these dynamic sectors. Eryka Lehr, chief of staff in global affairs (Google)
Eryka Lehr, a visionary at the forefront of technological innovation and ethics, brings valuable expertise in AI strategies and responsible leadership. Educated at Stanford GSB and with a varied career at companies such as PWC and Paypal, she has played a crucial role in implementing AI ethics at Google. In parallel, she works to improve women’s health as a partner at Kidron, a venture capital fund. Having influenced global AI standards at ISO between 2020 and 2022, Lehr brings her experience to Nexus2050 to inspire and spark meaningful dialogue on the future challenges and opportunities of technology.
David Shrier, futurist, innovation catalyst and VC (Visionary Future LLC)
David Shrier is a futurist and innovation catalyst with expertise in artificial intelligence, fintech, digital identity, cybersecurity and collaborative innovation. A professor of practice at Imperial College Business School, London and visiting fellow at MIT, Shrier previously taught at Oxford and MIT Sloan, where he also led several initiatives in connection science and new ventures.Involved in various committees and councils, he has influenced important policies, including the EU AI Act, and advised entities such as the European parliament, UK HMRC and financial institutions on topics such as blockchain and AI. At Nexus2050, Shrier will share his expertise by leading dialogues on the future of technology and responsible innovation in the financial and technology industries.
Maximilian Tayenthal, founder, co-CEO and COO (N26)
Maximilian Tayenthal is attending Nexus2050 to share his experience of revolutionising the banking industry through N26, which he co-created to make banking more accessible across the world. As co-CEO and COO, he has led major innovations in financial services, with a focus on more intuitive, user-centric banking. Educated in economics and law in Vienna, and a CFA charterholder, he brings a comprehensive view of the evolution of the financial sector. At Nexus2050, Tayenthal will discuss the challenges and opportunities of innovation in financial services, illustrating how N26 is adapting emerging technologies to improve the overall banking experience.
Anabel Ternès von Hattburg, futurologist, keynote speaker, thought leader, author
Anabel Ternès von Hattburg is a leading figure in the fields of technology, sustainability and future trends, hailed by Forbes and Handelsblatt as a visionary leader. As director of the Berlin Institute for Sustainable Management and professor of communication management, she has established a reputation as a futurologist and key speaker. Ternès von Hattburg has founded several innovative start-ups such as Getyourwings, an online learning platform, and Sustain Plus, an AI-driven ESG certification platform. She also brings a wealth of international leadership experience in business development for consumer goods companies. At Nexus2050, Ternès von Hattburg will share insights from her many initiatives, encourage the development of future skills and promote sustainable practices through her experiences and expertise in innovation and ethical leadership.
Alexandre Mars, President and Founder of blisce and the Epic Foundation
Alexandre Mars, a dedicated entrepreneur, will be present at Nexus2050 to share his experience in responsible investment and social innovation. Through blisce, he has invested in companies such as Spotify and Too Good To Go, with a particular focus on social and environmental impact. With the creation of Infinite, he is tackling educational inequality, helping students from modest backgrounds gain access to top universities. His commitment can also be seen through his role in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic games. At Nexus2050, Mars will discuss the synergies between entrepreneurship, innovation and social impact, illustrating how businesses can make a positive contribution to society.
