An Interview with Sasha Baillie, CEO of Luxinnovation

Sasha Baillie is the CEO of Luxinnovation, the Luxembourg National Innovation Agency. As a first Government Advisor at the Luxembourg Ministry of Economy, she has led the Innovation Agency since May 2018. Sasha has graciously agreed to answer our interview questions. What inspired your organization to join Nexus2050 for its first edition?

As the aim of the event is to showcase Luxembourg’s tech and innovation ecosystem, it was an obvious choice for us to be actively involved. One of the missions of Luxinnovation is to connect different players and facilitate innovation projects within our ecosystem. This event gives us an excellent opportunity to showcase how we can support companies and other organisations, regardless of their size, stage of maturity and economic sector, along their path of innovation.

Which topics at Nexus2050 are of particular interest to you? And why?

As an innovation and tech enabler, we are particularly interested in everything that will happen in the PureTech Village and the startup zone The Hive. We are supporting a series of four panel discussions on the data-driven economy and the impact of AI on business and creativity. We are also organising two side events: the Fit 4 Start Graduate Showcase, which will put a spotlight on the startups rewarded for having successfully completed the 14th edition of our Fit 4 Start acceleration programme, and the 2024 Supercomputing Day, with a programme including a wide variety of panels, inspiring speeches and case studies around supercomputing technology.

What criteria will you use to gauge the success of Nexus2050?

Nexus should succeed in putting Luxembourg on the map as an innovation and tech location. We are hoping to see contacts being made that will lead to concrete collaboration and innovative projects in Luxembourg.

The success of this event will also be measured by the quality of the speakers and perfect matching between visitors and exhibitors.
