Mykhailo (Misha) Verych is Regional Director for CRDF Global Europe & Eurasia Hub, since December 2023.  Prior to this, Misha served as the Senior Operations Manager for CRDF Global, growing and developing a multidisciplinary programme team in Ukraine and since last year, Poland. Misha leads design and delivery of a wide range of digital resilience, cybersecurity and countering disinformation programming throughout Europe supported and financed by the US Department of State and the Governments of the united Kingdom, Canada and Japan.   Misha provides advice to and provides partnership with high level Ukrainian governmental security stakeholders, including the National Security and Defense Council, National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Special Communication Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Economic Security Bureau, State Boarder Guard etc, as well as major universities throughout Ukraine and the region. He was decorated in 2023 by President Zelenski for his services to defending the national security of Ukraine, continuously throughout the period of the full scale invasion. 

Under Misha’s leadership, CRDF Global Europe and Eurasia Hub has implemented 80 + educational and capacity building programme activities in 2024 such as Cybersecurity Coordination Clusters, Workshops, Tabletop Exercises, Hackathons, Vulnerability Disclosure Programs, conferences, curriciulum development and e-learning. 

 Prior to being named to this role, Misha served as the Senior Operations Manager of Cybersecurity and as Acting Regional Director, providing leadership for the company’s Kyiv-based team, ensuring the application of best practices in program standards, representing organizational programs and projects at external events, and building relations with government agencies, embassies, and other partners. 

 Misha joined CRDF Global in 2019. Since that time, has served an integral role in expanding the company’s cybersecurity portfolio and stabilizing the Ukraine Hub throughout the full-scale invasion in 2021 and in the aftermath of the following years.

  Prior to joining CRDF Global, Misha also as an Area manager in Eastern Ukraine and later as a Deputy Country Director of the NGO, HelpAge International. Here, he collaborated with international NGOs such as Norwegian Refugee Council, Danish Refugee Council, People in Need, Dorcas, Arche Nova, Polish Humanitarian Action, and Action Against Hunger to implement joint advocacy and humanitarian activities for older people and people with disabilities. In 2016, he collaborated with government agencies at the central and local levels to successfully implement a number of emergency assistance projects and development components aimed at improving the lives of older people in areas adjacent to active conflict in the Donetsk and Luhansk Region of Eastern Ukraine. 

Misha also served for 12 years with the State Employment Service of the Ministry of Social Policy in Kyiv. In his positions as the head of the international cooperation and European cooperation division and head of the international projects division, he built strong connections with the World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES), the International Labour Organization (ILO), UN agencies, foreign government ministries and services responsible for social policy and employment, and a number of international NGOs. 

Misha also worked as an area manager in Eastern Ukraine and later as a deputy country director of the NGO, HelpAge International. Here, he collaborated with international NGOs such as Norwegian Refugee Council, Danish Refugee Council, People in Need, Dorcas, Arche Nova, Polish Humanitarian Action, and Action Against Hunger to implement joint advocacy and humanitarian activities for older people and people with disabilities. In 2016, he collaborated with government agencies at the central and local levels to successfully implement a number of emergency assistance projects and development components aimed at improving the lives of older people in areas adjacent to active conflict in the Donetsk and Luhansk Region of Eastern Ukraine. 

 Misha holds an L.L.M. from the Academy of Municipal Management and an M. Psych from the Ukrainian State Employment Service Training Institute. He is fluent in English and Ukrainian.
